Hi, I’m Julian from HandsOnTV, I wanted to tell you that becoming a presenter and having your own channel is easy and this is how you do it……
First, hit the Presenter Sign In button top right of the www.handsontv.co.uk landing page, it will load a sign in box where you will see at the bottom “create new account”, click on this and it will take you to the presenter registration section. Fill in the form and hit sign up, you will see a message appear saying we will activate your account very soon.
You will receive an email from us saying your account has been activated and you can sign in with your user and password. When you have signed in you get a success page then you hit continue. The first time you do this you will be prompted to change your password, we encourage you to do so.
Now you’re ready to start adding your media materials and become a presenter!
You will see the presenter dashboard that consists a various sections, let’s start with “pre recorded media” hit it and a drop down will appear, showing list, add and views, all of these of option are available to you. Hit “add” to upload your media.
You will see a number of boxes to complete starting with “title”, “subtitle” and “description” please note these all have word limits. There will be then be a couple of drop down choices also such as media type, zones, then you get to categories and performers, if a suitable option is not shown then just type in the correct one and it will be added. When you get to the “Series” entry you need to decide whether your media is part of series e.g., how to play the drums, part 1, 2 etc. or whether it is not, if you want a series you will need to create one by going back to the dashboard and hitting “Series/add series”, again this is self explanatory and very simlar to the add media page. With the end date entry please insert a date well into the future.
Please do pay attention to the guidelines on size of images otherwise your entry will not look as good as it could!
As you get towards the end of the media entry you will see 2 tickboxes for “does not require a subscription” and “active”, this is important as it dictates whether it can be viewed for free or via a subscription only account , as regards the media being active and viewable on the website when you save your entry it automatically becomes active, if you want to reverse this you will need to edit your entry afterwards and untick the active box.
All other entries should be self explanatory AND DON’T FORGET TO HIT SAVE AND ADD MEDIA AT THE THE END!
